Makes our life so much easier....sweeps and mops excellent...we use everyday!

The media could not be loaded. I upgraded from a dreame 10 to the Narwal Freo Z. And let's just technology has come a long long way in terms of robot vacuums. I've had this for a bit over a week now and it's perfect.

The pros:
Very easy setup and documentation. It's incredibly quiet compared to any robot vacuum I've used. Ever. I've had Wyze, roborock, dreame, and finally this. This is by far the quietest vacuum I've ever used and somehow even more powerful in terms of suction. Oh, and an enormous water tank.

Freo mind! I am absolutely in love with this feature and especially the intensive cleaning for large dirty area(s). My house is oak flooring throughout with throw rugs throughout. When you first enable this, you might think the robot is going crazy cleaning the same spot over and over. Don't go crazy. Whatever sensors it is using, trust them.

Performance:
Wood floors, tile floors: It does an incredible job vacuuming and mopping these. Absolutely no complaints. I'm primarily using the freo mind portion within the app and I have no complaints.

Carpets: I have two australian shepherds. It's nearly November. It's shedding season. Anyone that has any double coat dog knows the struggle is real when they start blowing their coats. It definitely does a fantastic job picking up the hair throughout the house. Hair on the carpet is no match for that thing. Also a plus, if it detects that the carpet or flooring is dirty, you will hear the vacuum go a bit louder for more suction power.

Edge mode: I can't personally say I've had much time to observe this (the vacuum runs during the day during working hours). However, the app doesn't lie. I have observed it doing its little dust thing. Cool feature, but that's all I can say. I tend to steam the baseboards once a year for a deep clean anyway.

What could be better:
The app is great. BUT, there are definitely some features that you should enable once it has mapped the house. It will not vacuum carpets unless explicitly specified. You can change the behavior of this in the app by selecting the carpet on the map and you can tell it how you would like to do it. Narwal does not recommend having this on high-pile carpets.

If you have pets, do make sure to check off "Family with Pets" in the app so it will empty the dustbin more regularly.

I also had to check off auto dust collection set to always rather than smart. This ensures that it will empty the dust bin after every cleaning. The smart empty was not cutting it for me as a family with 2 pets. I do wish there was a way to complete a room, have it go empty the dust bin, then resume to the next room. Which, you can do by setting up an individual schedule (per room), just a minor annoyance is all.

OK. This is a very expensive robot vacuum. As you can see from my badge, I’m a Vine member so I got this at a discount, and probably wouldn‘t have ordered it for myself otherwise. But I’m a believer now.

I was hesitant to unpack it because it HAD to be complicated to set up and get going in the house, but after reading the user manual I unpacked it. I have to say that the hardest part was deciding where to put the home base. I wanted it to be convenient but out of sight. It requires no more space than my Roomba did.

Set up was minimal. Download the app, get it hooked up to Wi-Fi (much easier than most), fill the clean water tank (I take that back- figuring out which tank was which was the hardest part of set up) and let it go. Everything else is pre-assembled.

The Narwal takes a mapping tour of the house first. Great, I thought -an hour or two of it bumping into stuff. But nooooo! It took a leisurely stroll around the house for about 15 minutes and not only mapped out the rooms and all of the furniture but determined what each room should be named including the bathroom!

It is supposed to mop and vacuum, depending on floor type and will even do baseboards. Right？
You can choose different modes- mop and vac, vac, vac and then mop. Oh and did I say that there is onboard detergent?

Darned if it didn’t get right to work, mopping and vacuuming. The floor was actually a different color when it was through (don‘t judge me) and the house smelled good. Then to top it off, it goes back to its base station and cleans its own mop pads and dries them. Also it is quiet I don‘t mind having it going in the background. The closest thing to a house elf I can think of. We will call it Dobby.

The app is very easy to navigate and intuitive. Once it maps the house, you can select one room or all to clean just by tapping that room on the map- as it should be. But so often not.

TLDR: if you can afford one, buy it!

I really wasn't sure what to expect. We have a Roomba, iRobot new style version and now the Narwal. We were used to our other smart-vacs driving around, loudly sucking up whatever they could and bumping into everything and everywhere. The Narwal took about 20 minutes it's first time 'out', plotted out a full layout of the main floor and even included things like power outlets, where it detected shoes and 'common area for chairs' which turned out to be the kitchen/dining room table. After plugging the detergent pod into the base and filling the clean water jug, we let it rip.

It's not as loud as our original ones, did a fantastic job of cleaning the floor and, judging by how dirty the water was that got expelled, did a pretty good deep clean on our vinyl floors. I read some of the other reviews and really can't say anything negative about it. It DID leave a LITTTTTLE bit of excess water on the floor while mopping, but only on the edge between the vinyl flooring and the carpet, hardly anything to get stressed out over. So far so good!!!

I’ve never been big on cleaning robots or anything high tech for the house, so my wife was shocked when I said I was considering it. A bit skeptical, I decided to order it and give it a try without any major expectations. I was honestly blown away by the cleaning results and how smart this thing is!

The cleaning robot arrives in a large box that weighs around 50 pounds. Once you get everything out you’ll have the home base, the robot, the power cord, some additional accessories, some replacement parts, and the detergent bottle. I had fun putting it together because there are removable stickers that tell you how to proceed with the setup. At some point you’ll get to the step where you have to download the app (I did on my iPhone) and then you’ll be asked to turn on the robot and connect it to your home WiFi. It was easy to do and once all that is done, you place it in the base and it will start to charge.

Placement of the base is important because the robot needs a bit of space to maneuver while it backs itself in, but the power cord isn’t that long so make sure you plan on there being a power outlet near where you want to place the base. While it was charging, I placed the detergent bottle in the front compartment and then added water to the container accessed through the top. The containers are not that big so you won’t have to worry about the weight when carrying it to/from the sink.

When everything was ready, my phone prompted me to start the mapping. The robot went around the entire house and mapped the rooms with numbers and other identifiers. It then presented me with a floorplan and I could customize the order to clean the rooms in or do individual ones. It’s quite impressive how once it has the map it knows exactly where to go!

Then once it started cleaning, I was impressed at how many settings there were and how self-sufficient it is. You can change its procedures and even interrupt it and tell it to go home, at which point it will dump its water and start drying itself. It know how much water to put on the floor so that it doesn't stay wet to long and it can even adjust suction of the vacuum based on the type of floor and how much dirt there is.

For our home’s floorplan it worked out great because we were able to close the doors to areas that have stairs and aside from one big threshold that it had trouble getting over (it still did it but I rather not have it struggle) it had no problems getting around the rest of the house. It also gives you a live report of how its doing and if it has any difficulty performing a task or any other info it thinks you should know.

Overall, this product has changed how I see cleaning robots and I’m not disappointed that I got it. So long as you don’t have a lot of clutter on the ground and that the level you’re running it on is big enough to be worth it, I can definitely recommend it. This model will even clean the baseboards as it mops/vacuums the room edges!

This is my first robot vacuum of any type. We have a 2400 square house that is 80% floors so I'd been waiting for a mop/vacuum that reviews showed performed well and lasted a long time to make the investment worth it. It is easy to set up even with minimal documentation or links to setup vids and as an old guy with old eyes some larger font would have been appreciated. The initial mapping was automatic, effective and efficient. I was up and running the first pass of the house fairly quickly. That first mop and vac took about 5 hours as it went over some dirty areas multiple times. I've read comments that the operation uses a bunch of water but aside from that first time I do not have to change the water to complete a whole house pass. The mopping action does not leave a lot of water of the floor so it dries quickly. The regular maintenance - cleaning the sensors, emptying the plastic dust collector, cleaning the inside of the storage box - are all easy and fast. You still have to spend some time before operation to pick up your house, clean up the pathways and move stuff, just like when you manually do the work. That prep makes this machine work well. The only thing I am having difficulty with is editing the map. It is not easy to break large mapped spaces into separate parts. For example, we have a great room that combines the kitchen and family room and I can't edit the map to make it into two rooms which would make more sense functionally. This is not an inexpensive item but if it works for 5+ years it will be a good investment that truly makes a pain of a chore much easier. We clean our floors much more often than we used to do manually.

I've been using the Narwal Freo Z Ultra for a full week, and I'm blown away. I previously had a Roborock, but this is on a completely different level, especially for mopping. The AI obstacle avoidance is incredible, it navigates around furniture, cords, and even small objects effortlessly. I love the sideboard cleaning module which picks up dirt that other vacuums always miss.The dual cameras and AI chips make it smart and adaptive. The white design looks sleek in my home, and the packing is thoughtful where everything is secure and organized. The water and dirty water bins are well-designed and magnetic, making filling and emptying hassle-free, and I also love that you can attach their cleaning solution directly.Mopping is next-level with hot water, scrubbing, and adaptive cleaning patterns. The suction is strong, yet it runs quietly, so I can work or watch TV without distractions. The self-emptying and self-washing base is genius and it practically maintains itself.Overall, the Freo Z Ultra is hands-down the best robot vacuum and mop combo I've used. It's smart, thorough, and truly makes floor cleaning effortless. Highly recommend!

The Narwal works so well it exceeded my expectations , the app and set up are so super user friendly . I set it up the same night. It has a great battery life easily cleans more than a hour. Love it and highly recommend it.

The Freo Z Ultra has been the best addition to my cleaning routine. "Jarvis" is programmed to run everyday at 2am and I wake up to clean carpets and floors. The intuitive AI is amazing. It ran for 6 hours the first day and cleaned each room 5+ times. I was amazed at the dirty water, since I mop almost daily with 4 kids and dogs. After the cleaning I ran a wet paper towel over the floor and it was perfectly clean! Just amazing! Now it cleans in just over an hour and even includes photos of obstacles (cords, shoes, etc.). I have added additional schedules like a nighttime routine to clean the kitchen after cooking while we eat dinner. I have more free time in the evenings now. This is one product I will forever own and cherish!

It vacuums with great power, scrubs intelligently and cleans only with hot water. Its camera and AI system really makes it work without me worrying. Very practical, quiet and efficient. It's worth every penny.

I absolutely love my Freo Z Ultra! I use it 4-5 times a week for small and big jobs and am impressed each time it cleans. It vacuums everything up and mops thoroughly. I love that I can section my cleaning areas on my own and send Guido (yes, I named him!) out to do a single area or a group of rooms. The maintenance is so easy (just dump the dirty water and refill fresh water periodically) and I love that I can send him out to clean from my phone when I'm not home. I would highly recommend this!

This is the best gift I have ever gave myself.

I purchased this unit after watching many vacuum “influencers” give their reviews. At first I was a bit skeptical (every review was overwhelmingly positive) but I can personally attest to the performance of this device. My roomba i9 has been banished to the upstairs. There was a slight learning curve when I started using the app, but that was more on me than anything and I know love the app. The tank capacities last quite a while and I’m really excited about plumbing the unit into my plumbing system so it will be able to empty and refill on its own (that feature is ultimately what made me go with Narwal and I can’t wait to use it).

Background- hardwood floors, rugs, 1 baby with lots of baby accessories, and 2 dogs (very very hairy- they’re the reason I own robot vacuums).

Best purchase for working outside the home and occasionally long hours. I absolutely love my Narwal Freo Z and it does a fantastic job vacuuming and mopping my floors! The mapping system is impressive especially it knows the difference between area rugs and hard flooring. Thank you engineers for creating such an awesome
product, it really has helped me with keeping my floors clean.
